Photo Frame Slideshow
This policy covers the app Photo Frame Slideshow, published by Wishmon Inc. M8M Labs, which appears as wishmon on Google Play and as M8M Labs on the App Store. It covers the app on Android and on iPhone and iPad; where they differ, this policy says so. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Wishmon Inc. M8M Labs.

Summary
Photo Frame Slideshow plays photos and videos you pick, and photos (and, if you turn it on, videos) from device albums you choose, as a full-screen slideshow. The items you pick are copied to this device and stay on it. Album photos are copied into a size-limited album photo cache on this device; album videos play from the album and are not copied. We do not receive any of them, and the app has no server of its own. There is no account and there are no ads. Usage statistics and crash reports are sent to Google only if you allow them.
What the app accesses
Photos and videos on this device. You can add photos in two ways. With Pick photos on this device, the system photo picker opens and the app receives only the items you select there. With Albums on this device, the app asks for permission to read photos (and videos, if you turn on Include videos). Within the access you allow, it then reads the list of albums and, in the albums you choose, each item's date, size and orientation. On Android 14 and later you can allow access to selected photos only. On iPhone and iPad, photo access goes through Apple's Photos framework: you can allow full access, limited access (the photos you select) or no access, and change it at any time in Settings > Apps > Photo Frame > Photos (on iOS 17 and earlier, Settings > Photo Frame > Photos). It makes screen-size copies of those photos in the app's cache, up to the limit set under Settings > Album photo cache, and deletes them when space is needed, when you lower the limit, or when you turn photo access off. Videos from albums are played from the album and not copied. Removing a photo from a frame does not delete it from the album. None of this leaves the device.
Photos and videos in Google Photos. When you add photos from Google Photos, the app asks Google for one permission, photospicker.mediaitems.readonly, after Google shows its own consent screen. With it the app receives only the items you select in the Google Photos picker. It cannot browse your library, see your albums, or receive anything you did not select. You can also scan a QR code the frame shows and select the items in Google Photos on your own phone. The app then receives only those items, with the same permission. For each selected item it receives the file, its Google Photos item ID, its type, its size in pixels and the date it was taken.
The app does not store your Google account name or email address.
What the app stores
- A copy of each photo and video you add. Photos are saved as JPEG at a size that suits this screen; videos are copied as they are. Your originals on the device and in Google Photos are not changed.
- For a frame that plays device albums: the albums it plays, and the photos you removed from it (their ID on this device, the date taken and the file size, so a photo stays removed after the device renumbers it). Copies of album photos are kept in the app's cache as described above.
- For each copy: its size in pixels, the date it was taken, when it was added, and, for items from Google Photos, the item ID, which is used to skip items you have already added.
- Your frames: their names, the items in them and their settings.
- App settings, including your answer about usage statistics and crash reports.
All of this is kept in the app's private storage on this device until you remove it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
- On Android, all of it is excluded from cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so Google backup or a copy to a new phone does not take it off the device.
- On iPhone and iPad, the copies, the album photo cache and your frames are excluded from iCloud and computer backups. App settings, including your answer about usage statistics and crash reports, are in the device's iCloud or computer backup, if you use one.
Sharing
We do not share, sell or transfer your photos, videos or information about them to anyone. They are not sent to us, not used for advertising and not used to train AI models.
The use of information received from Photos APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Usage statistics and crash reports
The first time you open the app, it asks whether to share usage statistics and crash reports. Usage statistics and crash reports are not sent before you answer, and not sent if you say no. You can change the answer at any time in Settings. Turning it off stops collection from that moment; it does not remove what was already sent.
If you allow them, the app sends:
- Usage statistics, through Google Analytics for Firebase: events such as finishing the introduction, creating a frame, adding items, starting a frame, how long after the first launch the first frame started (in ranges such as 30 to 45 seconds), how long a frame played (in ranges such as 30 to 119 minutes), how many items a frame has (in ranges such as 10 to 49), whether items came from Pick photos on this device, Albums on this device or Google Photos, and turning night mode on. Google adds its app instance ID, the device model, the operating system version (Android or iOS), the app version and the country.
- Crash reports, through Firebase Crashlytics: when the app crashes, the error and its stack trace, the device model, the operating system version, the app version and a Crashlytics installation ID.
These never include photos, videos, file names, photo metadata, Google Photos item IDs, frame names or anything about your Google account. They are not used for advertising, and the app does not use the advertising ID.
Google's handling of this data is described at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Internet use
The app connects to the internet only to reach Google's sign-in and Google Photos Picker services when you add photos from Google Photos, to download the items you selected, to revoke access when you disconnect Google Photos, and to send usage statistics and crash reports if you allowed them. On iPhone and iPad, an album photo kept only in iCloud is downloaded by Apple's Photos framework when the album photo cache has no copy of it. Photos stored on the device or in the album photo cache play without an internet connection.
Deleting your data
- Remove photos or videos: open Manage photos for the frame, select items and remove them. Their copies are deleted from the device.
- Delete a frame: open the frame menu and choose Delete. The frame and all its copies are deleted.
- Album photo copies: choose Settings > Album photo cache > Clear album photo cache, or turn photo access off for the app in the device's settings (on iPhone and iPad, choose None under Photos on the app's page in Settings). The copies are deleted; the albums on the device are not changed. When you remove an album photo from a frame or delete an album frame, its copy is deleted the next time the app checks the albums, unless another frame plays it.
- Disconnect Google Photos: in Settings. This revokes the app's access to your Google Photos and deletes the app's copies of every photo and video that came from Google Photos. Your Google Photos library is not changed. You can also revoke access at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Uninstall the app: this deletes everything the app stored.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If a version of the app changes anything described here, this policy is updated before that version is published.
